We are looking for a capable and reliable general laborer to join our team. You’ll take direction from the project foreman to help prepare job sites, load and unload construction materials, remove debris, assist team members, and perform any other general labor needed to get the job done right. Responsibilities:
- Remove any trash, debris or hazardous materials from the area to prep the site before construction begins.
- Take away any remaining tools, trash, and building materials once construction is complete to ensure a clean work site.
- Assist tradespeople and heavy equipment workers with plumbing, electrical, roofing, and other trade work as needed.
- Help your team with all stages of the build to make sure that the job is done as efficiently as possible.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations on-site to ensure that you and your team members are not injured.
- Perform yard work, including blowing customer area and trash removal.
- Operate general site equipment (Blowers, pressure washers).
- Check landfill tickets.
- Spot Customers driving into the transfer station.
- Perform general office maintenance and repairs, including painting and janitorial work.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Work overtime and rotating shifts from scheduled start time to scheduled end time.
- Take an active role in the improvement of safety and health in the workplace.
- Participate in all required Company meetings, including weekly safety meetings.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a landfill, transfer station, or waste experience is preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Ability to be self-directed as well as work in a team environment.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
- Knowledge of basic engineering and construction laborer methods is preferred, but we will provide training.
- Must be able to take direction, work well independently and as part of a team for efficiency and productivity.
- Our crew members must be physically able to do the work with reliable hand-eye coordination and balance.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Preference to candidates with experience using construction equipment such as forklift and power tools.
Compensation:
$16 - $18 hourly
