Job Summary

Performs landscaping and grounds maintenance activities to supporta safe, attractive, and well-maintained campus environment.Responsibilities include turf care, planting, pruning, irrigationsupport, seasonal cleanup, and maintenance of planting beds, trees,shrubs, and flowers. Contributes to the overall appearance ofUniversity grounds and supports public-facing campus activities andevents. Work is performed under varying levels of supervisiondepending on classification level, with higher levels demonstratingincreasing independence, expertise, and the ability to assist intraining or mentoring others. This position is hourly, non-exempt,and not benefits eligible.

Responsibilities

• General Laborer I -Perform routine manual labor in support offacilities, grounds, maintenance, construction, and operationalactivities under close supervision. Load, unload, move, andtransport materials, supplies, equipment, and tools. Assist withsite preparation, setup, cleanup, and debris removal. Operate handtools and basic power tools as directed. Assist skilled tradespersonnel and other team members with assigned work. Maintain workareas in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Follow establishedsafety procedures and use required personal protective equipment(PPE).Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, andmaintenance needs to supervisors. Interact professionally withfaculty, staff, students, and visitors. Perform other duties asassigned.


• General Laborer II-Perform a variety of manual labor duties insupport of facilities, grounds, maintenance, construction, andoperational activities with moderate supervision. Load, unload,transport, and stage materials, supplies, tools, and equipment.Perform site preparation, cleanup, and material handlingactivities. Operate hand tools, power tools, and assigned equipmentsafely and effectively. Assist with basic maintenance, repair, andinstallation projects. Support construction, renovation, moving,and event setup activities. Maintain work areas, equipment, andtools in a clean and safe condition. Follow established safetyprocedures and departmental guidelines. Identify and report safetyconcerns and equipment issues. Perform other duties asassigned.


• General Laborer III -Perform advanced manual labor and operationalsupport activities with minimal supervision. Independently completeassigned projects and work activities. Operate tools, equipment,and vehicles required to support departmental operations. Assistwith maintenance, repair, installation, construction, andgrounds-related projects. Coordinate material movement and job siteorganization to support efficient operations. Monitor work qualityand ensure assigned tasks are completed safely and effectively.Assist in training and on-boarding new or less-experiencedemployees. Identify operational issues and recommend improvementsto work processes. Maintain compliance with safety standards anddepartment procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
