Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking General Laborer to support daily production operations in a brick manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for manually handling brick and flue lining, inspecting finished products for quality, unloading materials from kiln cars, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.

The ideal candidate is dependable, physically capable of performing repetitive manual labor, attentive to product quality, and committed to following established safety procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manually set green brick and flue lining according to established production specifications.
  • Unload fired brick and flue lining from kiln cars.
  • Inspect brick for imperfections, including cracks, chips, color variations, and other quality concerns.
  • Separate acceptable products from those that do not meet quality requirements.
  • Manually place bricks that pass inspection onto conveyor belts for continued processing.
  • Safely handle and move brick and other production materials throughout the work area.
  • Maintain the work area according to company cleanliness, organization, and safety standards.
  • Participate in routine cleanup of tools, equipment, production areas, and surrounding workspaces.
  • Follow established production procedures and supervisor instructions.
  • Attend required safety meetings and training.
  • Follow all company safety rules, procedures, and required personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
  • Identify and immediately report hazardous or unsafe working conditions to supervisors.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, operational concerns, and supply shortages.
  • Work collaboratively with coworkers and support skilled production personnel as needed.
  • Maintain consistent productivity while ensuring work is performed safely and accurately.
  • Perform additional production and general labor duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Previous general labor, manufacturing, production, construction, or industrial experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding and repetitive manual labor throughout the shift.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product imperfections and quality concerns.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and established operating procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a production team.
  • Dependable with regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to work an early morning schedule beginning at 5:00 AM.
  • Willingness to perform a variety of production, material-handling, and cleanup responsibilities.
