General Laborer

Wage: $22.93 - $23.93 / hr

We are searching for a candidate who is a team player with a can-do attitude who enjoys a challenge. This is a full-time opportunity working for a world-class hardwood lumber manufacturer.

NWH provides competitive wages starting at $22.93/hr with advancement to $23.93/hr within the first 90 days depending on performance. Shift schedule is M-F day shift 6:00 am – 2:30 pm, with pre-scheduled OT possible. General Responsibilities:

• Work safely - know, understand, and follow NWH safety rules.
• Ability to clearly communicate with your peers and leadership via radio in a noisy production setting.
• Ability to make decisions quickly utilizing hand-eye and foot coordination while safely maintaining the flow of the product.
• Handling, sorting, and stacking sanded lumber by dimension, species, and grade.
• Utilize hand tools/wheelbarrows to clean up sawmill debris.
• Operate mobile equipment.
• Ability to cross-train on 2-3 operator positions in your first 6-12 months.

Qualifications:

• Must be safety conscious, have a positive attitude, and work well in a team.
• Must have excellent attendance.
• High school or GED equivalent.
• Work at a fast pace and be detail-oriented.
• Pre-employment drug screen & background check required.
• Candidates must be able to lift 50+ pounds.
• Always requires personal protective equipment to be worn.
