L.L. Pelling Company, Inc. in North Liberty is seeking a dependable General Laborer to join our grading crew. You will perform manual labor, assist with material handling, and support setup for traffic control devices.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor that requires walking, bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and sitting.
• Load and unload trucks, haul and hoist materials, and transport tools to job sites.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
• Clean and prepare surfaces where work will take place; measure and mark pavement.
• Assist in setting up and tearing down traffic control devices.
• Control traffic on job sites by flagging to guide traffic through work areas, as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and attend safety meetings

General Laborer

We're looking for a hard-working and motivated general laborer to join our small grading crew in North Liberty. When we say small, we mean there's a supervisor, equipment operator and you, the general laborer.

This is an ideal position for someone motivated to work hard and eventually learn how to operate equipment. You should be a self starter who wants to work towards getting a Class B commercial drivers license.

Long days or nights based on project needs and weather.

What You’ll Do

• Perform manual labor that requires walking, bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and sitting.

Physical Requirements

• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Climb in/out of equipment and work 10+ hour shifts
• Safely work around traffic and heavy equipment

Work Environment
Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and active construction zones, including traffic at highway speeds.
