Job summary

Standex International is seeking a General Laborer to support production operations in New Berlin, WI. You will handle material movement, assist machine operators, and help with packing, shipping, and housekeeping in a fast-paced shop environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining logs, following safety procedures, and contributing to continuous improvement of quality and efficiency. Strong reliability and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Forklift experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Capable of following directions.
  • Take responsibility for achieving production efficiency, quality of product, and report discrepant material immediately.
  • Demonstrate customer focus by seeking out, understanding, and responding to the needs of both internal and external customers.

  • Move supplies to workstations by forklift or other material handling equipment.

  • Work in FanDuct Flow Line and operate robotic cells as directed.
  • Contribute to safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) goals.

What You'll Do

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the General Laborer will support production operations by performing a variety of tasks including material handling, machine operation assistance, logistics, and general housekeeping in all areas of the production shop.

Schedule: 7:00AM-3:30PM

  • Perform basic shop operations by sandblasting, part washing, trimming of parts, and assisting Spinners with material handling or torch
  • Assist Shipping & Receiving with packaging/crating of product
  • Move supplies/job to workstations by forklift or other material handling equipment
  • Maintain and clean production areas as needed including painting or washing machines/equipment
  • Perform general facility maintenance and cleaning of building
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs as needed
  • Work in FanDuct Flow Line as directed
  • Operate Robotic cells as directed
  • Accomplish organization goals by actively exploring opportunities to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC)
  • Complete job assignments as directed by Manufacturing Manager
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and participate in audits as directed
Safety
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
  • Follow all company rules including company EH&S policy and all federal, state, local, and other safety regulations and practices
  • Use personal protective equipment and devices provided for machinery, equipment, tools and processes, when defined in PCS, Company Safety Policy, Job Safety Analysis or Management direction
  • Report all unsafe conditions, accidents and injuries immediately to management
  • Actively participate in 6S and lean activities as outlined by the Company
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and following Company instructions
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
  • Store and maintain tools, equipment and gauges as defined by company standards
  • Keep work area clean and organized to company standards/expectations
  • Daily cleaning and sweeping of work area, tools and equipment
  • Empty trash and waste as needed
  • Personal items removed from workstations
