Job summary

Spherion Staffing, LLC seeks a dependable General Laborer in Navasota, TX to support daily shop floor operations across heat treatment, forging, welding, and material handling to ensure smooth production and high quality output.

You will assist machine operators, transport materials with overhead cranes and hoists, and help with finishing tasks such as grinding and deburring while adhering to PPE and LOTO safety rules. Work hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of related experience in heavy manufacturing.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for long periods.
• Ability to work night shift and overtime as needed.
• Commitment to PPE and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist machine operators with equipment setup and material movement.
• Transport raw materials and components between centers using overhead cranes or hoists.
• Support post-production finishing tasks such as grinding, deburring, sanding, or coatings.
• Adhere to safety guidelines, PPE, and LOTO protocols.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to leadership.

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused General Laborer to join a industrial manufacturing team in Navasota, TX. In this role, you will support daily shop floor operations across various manufacturing departments-including heat treatment, forging, welding, and material handling-to ensure efficient production flow and high-quality output.

Responsibilities

• Assist machine operators, welders, and forge personnel with daily equipment setup, material loading, and part movement.
• Transport raw materials, components, and heavy tubular products between work centers using overhead cranes, hoists, or material transport equipment (upon training).
• Support post-production finishing tasks such as grinding, deburring, sanding, stencil marking, or applying protective thread caps and coatings.
• Strictly adhere to all safety guidelines, wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
• Report any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or quality issues immediately to shop leadership.

Working hours: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Skills

• Prior experience working in heavy manufacturing, oilfield equipment, pipe mill, forge shop, or warehouse environment.
• Experience operating standard shop tools, industrial grinders, bandsaws, overhead cranes, or forklifts (forklift certification is a plus).
• Basic ability to read blueprints, work orders, tape measures, or precision measuring instruments.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and stand/walk for up to 10???12 hours per shift.
• Comfort working in a heavy industrial shop environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, heat, and dust.
• Demonstrated reliability, strong punctuality, and commitment to working assigned shifts, including potential overtime or weekend shifts.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and strictly following all plant safety policies.
