Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (pumps, forklifts, boilers, compressors, yard tractors, pressure washers).
• Loading and unloading of equipment.
• Repositioning equipment to relieve yard congestion.
• Stocking shelves and inventory control.
• Exterior cleaning of equipment as needed.

Position Overview

The General Laborer is responsible for the daily upkeep and maintenance of our facilities in Long Beach, Commerce and Wilmington. This will be accomplished by focusing on the outside and inside aesthetics of our facilities and will entail light landscaping, general office maintenance and cleaning of company equipment. The person will be expected to learn a variety of skills in order to assist departments within operations which can result in promotional opportunities.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Daily yard and equipment inspections / audits
• Yard/ facility cleaning and light maintenance, which includes light landscaping
• Driving to and from vendors to receive/ return equipment, parts, and items.
• Operate heavy equipment (pumps, forklifts, boilers, compressors, yard tractors, pressure washers) for the purpose of supporting operational functions
• Loading and unloading of equipment
• Repositioning company equipment in order to relieve yard congestion
• Stocking shelf and inventory control
• Perform exterior cleaning of company equipment as needed
• Other duties as assigned

• Valid current drivers license with a clean driving record
• Proficient with English (verbal and reading)
• Observes all safety and compliance policies. Consistently wears PPE, uses fall protection, observes confined space entry rules, and functions with safety at top of mind.
• Able to work long hours from time to time, able to be flexible to meet the needs of the business

Physical Requirements.

• Able to climb on top of, underneath and enter iso tank containers and tanker trailers. Able to safely enter confined spaces
• Able to perform strenuous work while inside a confided space. Much of this work includes overhead scrubbing and scraping
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Able to lift and carry heavy hoses, fittings, and other equipment weighing up to 100 pounds
• Must be able to walk, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, squat, and climb, as necessary to perform various cleaning and other functions
• Most of the work will be performed outside and must be able to work in hot, cold, and rainy weather conditions
