Job summary

Smurfit WestRock in Lithia Springs is seeking a General Laborer to support preprint operations in a safety-conscious facility. You will perform quality checks, participate in setup activities, and assist with inventory and mounting tasks while maintaining a clean, efficient work area.

The role requires the ability to work 12-hour shifts days or nights, good attendance, and basic computer skills; training and development opportunities are provided within a global packaging company.

Qualifications

• Experience operating PIT and overhead cranes.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication.
• Able to work 12-hour shifts (days/nights).
• Good attendance.
• Willing to cover additional shifts as needed.
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
• Able to perform essential functions with/without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Inspect rolls and perform quality checks.
• Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
• Assist team in reducing plant waste by monitoring web and making corrections.
• Perform pre-make ready, make ready, setups, and secondary activities.
• Inspect printing decks to ensure quality and productivity.
• Stage cutdown roll stock and cylinders for upcoming jobs per production schedule.
• Collaborate with management, quality, and operators.
• Provide feedback and continuous improvement ideas to the team.
• Clean plates and inspect aniloxes prior to job.
• Assist with inventory items as needed.
• Mounting machines - troubleshoot issues with mounting and new mounts.
• Data entry into Kiwi system and print tickets as needed.
• Operate Zamboni, forklift, and clamp trucks; perform daily inspections.
• Participate in safety activities and maintain Safety as priority.
• Other tasks as assigned.

General Laborer - Lithia Springs Preprint

The Opportunity

Smurfit WestRock has an opportunity for a General Laborer at our facility in Lithia Springs Preprint. The Smurfit Westrock Lithia Springs facility is a Graphics Solutions facility committed to creating a safe work environment, building motivated and engaged teams, and producing quality products for our customers. How You Will Impact Smurfit WestRock

• Inspect rolls and complete all required quality checks
• Maintain good housekeeping within work area

What You Need To Succeed

• Experience operating P.I.T. and/overhead cranes
• The ability to work independently or within a team environment
• Efficient in basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Be effective in verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work 12 hr. shifts; days and/or nights
• Must have good attendance
• Willing to support the time by occasionally covering other shifts as needed
• The ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or scheduled form.
• Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toe shoes, bump caps, and cut resistant gloves as needed

Essential/Marginal Functions And Physical Requirements

Essential: Sitting, walking, standing, lifting up to 50lbs, keying on keyboard and gripping of tools.
