Job summary

Closets by Design in Virginia Beach designs, manufactures, and installs a complete line of custom closets, home office furniture, media systems, wall-beds, and garage cabinetry. The General Laborer supports the shop team and assists with daily operations.

The role involves operating woodworking machinery and hand tools, learning installation techniques, and maintaining equipment while following quality and safety standards. Monday–Friday, with tools provided and potential for advancement.

Qualifications

• Experience in woodworking or cabinet making preferred.
• Experience with woodworking equipment and hand tools is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Some prior woodworking experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools.

General Laborer

• Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools.
• Understand company product lines, machinery, assembly standards, and installation techniques.
• Follow quality and safety standards.
• Maintain shop equipment according to an established schedule.
• Understand cut lists for daily jobs.
• Additional tasks or projects as defined by the Production Manager.
