Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking an entry level non-skilled general labor position on the A Shift in the United States. You will work on a cold, damp, or hot production floor, perform light to medium knife work, box products, and inspect items while following Tyson policies and wearing PPE.

Expect 8-10 hour shifts on concrete, 5-6 days per week. The environment may range from 40° in some areas to 100° in others, depending on location and task. Background checks may apply; relocation is not a requirement.

Job Details

The General Production jobs may require team members to utilize various styles of knives, saws, and other equipment such as hooks. Personal protective equipment such as a belly guard, mesh apron, sleeves, frocks, and gloves will be worn. The temperature of the work area could be as low as 40° or as high as 100° depending on the area in which the job is performed. Jobs located in the cut and converting areas will involve working in cold environments with temperatures at low as 40°. Jobs located on the Harvest Floor will involve working in a hot environment with temperatures ranging from 70° to 100°. This position is responsible for entry level non-skilled general labor while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Applicant must be available to work A-Shift hours. Positions are physically demanding. Continuous repetitive motion jobs. Standing 8-10 hours per day on concrete floor. Must be willing and able to work in cold, damp or hot and humid environment. These areas have slippery walking surfaces. Must be willing and able to work a 5-6 day work week; as well as any other duties as assigned by supervisor. Jobs include: light to medium knife work using stationary knives, boxing product, and inspection. No lifting over 60 lbs. May require climbing stairs/ladders. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
