Job summary

Swanton Welding in Griffin, GA is seeking a General Labor for the Fabrication / Production Support Department. This role supports sandblasting, finishing, painting prep, and productive shop projects, ensuring workflow stays on schedule.

You will assist with sandblasting and surface prep, handle basic hand and power tools, and help welders and fabricators with material handling. Emphasizes safety and 5S in a busy shop.

Qualifications

• Reliability, punctuality, and teamwork are essential.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely in a shop.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Experience in fabrication, finishing, or industrial work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sandblasting, surface prep, and equipment maintenance.
• Help with painting and finishing operations for clean, uniform results.
• Operate tools and equipment including saws, grinders, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes (after training).
• Support welders and fabricators with material handling and setup.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas following 5S and safety protocols.
• Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement activities.
