Job summary

Miller Industries is seeking a General Laborer for our Paint Department on the 1st shift in Fenton, Michigan. You will prepare parts for coating, mask, and assist with quality control while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Qualified candidates have a High School diploma or GED, experience in manual labor or manufacturing, and the ability to follow directions, multi-task, and use hand tools. PPE is required and overtime may be available.

Who We Want

Miller Industries is seeking a General Laborer for our Paint Department on our 1st Shift. The hours are 6 am to 4:30 pm with overtime as required for production on weekends.

What You Will Be Doing

• Prepare parts for coating.
• Masking and taping off parts.
• Ensure safety guidelines are being met to assure a safe work environment.
• Load and unload parts or product onto fixtures.
• Assist with quality control, making sure that all finished good materials are in good condition.
• Proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
• Keep plant and work area clean and orderly and notify supervisor concerning the need for any repairs.

What Requirements Are Needed

• High School diploma or GED.
• Experience in manual labor, skilled trades, construction, or manufacturing positions.
• Ability to multi-task various projects with high level of detail.
• Experience using hand tools and measuring devices.
• Must be able to demonstrate ability to follow directions, produce quality work, and maintain safe work environment.
• Team player who can also perform without supervision.
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and be clean shaven as needed to wear a respirator which involves successful completion of a medical evaluation/fit test.

Physical & Mental Requirements

The job is performed in a manufacturing setting regularly exposed to the following: noise, fumes, dirt, heat, sparks, smoke, dust, vibration, grease, moving objects/parts. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required. Work may include exposure to hazardous chemicals. Inside working conditions with exposure to hot and cold conditions.

Must have the physical, mental strength, and endurance to perform duties. Physical ability to frequently walk, stand for extended periods of time, balance, stoop, crouch, kneel, push, pull, twist, turn, and lift while performing functions of position. Must be able to reach overhead and climb ladders as needed. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to wear a half-face (elastomeric) air purifying respirator with N95 filters or full-face respirator up to 8 - 10 hours a day. May be required at times to be clean shaven to wear a respirator.
