Job summary

Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital is seeking an Apple Packer in Quincy, WA. The role involves packing apples into trays, boxes, and bags, with duties including sorting by size/color, defect detection, and maintaining a clean work area in a fast-paced production setting.

The position requires standing for long periods, lifting 10–12 pounds, and flexibility for extended or weekend shifts. Starting pay is $17.13 per hour with eligible benefits after the waiting period.

Responsibilities

• Pack apples into trays, boxes, and bags.
• Sort by size and color; detect defects.

• Bagging and general labor in production area.
• Learn apple grades per line and box.

Description

Apple Packer

The Apple Packer rotates through a variety of general labor tasks in the production area including, but not limited to:

1.) Packing apples into trays, boxes, and bags;

2.) Sorting;

3.) Keeping the floors clear of culls and debris;

4.) Repackaging; and

5.) Bagging

A packer must be able to:

1.) Work quickly and efficiently with both hands

2.) Classify according to size and color

3.) Detect defects

4.) Learn apple grades per line and box

5.) Work in a fast-paced environment

Physical requirements:

• Stand for all working hours
• Be flexible with work hours (It's possible we may work 10+ hour days, Monday through Saturday!)
• Be able to lift 10-12# throughout the day

Compensation and benefits:

$17.13 to start
