Job summary

Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) in Sanborn, IA, is seeking a Full-Time Production Operative to join our on-site team. You will handle cart assembly, packaging duties, and equipment sanitation while following strict food safety and GMP guidelines.

Prior dairy or cheese-industry experience is preferred, with emphasis on safety and quality standards. The role requires high school education or GED, forklift experience, and a commitment to teamwork in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble carts and place cheesecloth and liners into boxes.

• Seal the blocks and inspect, weigh, and tag carts.
• Maintain good housekeeping and cleanup of equipment; keep work areas organized.
• Adhere to safety, sanitation, and GMP policies; assist with machine repairs or troubleshooting as needed.

Description

AMPI owns six Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese and processed cheese is produced. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

• All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.
• This position has a heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities.
• Assemble carts and place cheesecloth and liners into boxes.
• Carts and pans need to be thoroughly rinsed in order to remove any soil/debris prior being placed in the bottom washer.
• Clean and sanitize and all carts and pans. Inspect and re-clean and sanitize if any soil or debris is located.
• Load and unload carts into a vacuum chamber and monitor the chamber to ensure proper vacuum pressure and time is met according to the specification.
• Seal the blocks.
• Inspect, weigh, and tag carts.
• Maintain good housekeeping and cleanup of equipment, keeping work areas organized.
• Maintain proper documentation in all formats of recordkeeping
• Adhere to all aspects of company and customer safety, sanitation and site policies.
• Once experience is gain, assists with training new employees.
• Provides assistance to the maintenance personnel, when needed, for machine repairs or troubleshooting.
• Adhere to all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
• Adhere to all Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
• Adhere to all GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
• Other duties as assigned.
