Job description

  1. JOB TITLE DESCRIPTION:
  1. The General Laborer is responsible for placing parts on flight bars/racks, removing and inspecting parts, packing, labeling and cleaning work area.
  1. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
  1. This position reports directly to: Supervisor
  1. RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

The responsibilities and authorities for this position include, but are certainly not limited to:

  1. Labeling: Correctly place bar mapping labels on parts (if necessary).
  2. Deracking: Unload flight bars/racks properly and efficiently.
  3. Packing: Recognize the difference between right and left parts/right and left dunnage and bring proper packaging to the line. Pack parts off the line ensuring each layer has the correct amount of parts. Ensure finished container has the correct amount of parts.
  4. Cleaning: Keep work area clean. Combine partials and continuously support inspection. Show initiative and be willing to assist team members when needed.
  5. Assisting on the line: Place parts on flight bars/racks to begin the plating process. Visually inspect flight bars/racks as they come off machine for Gross and Obvious defects. General Laborers are required and trained to recognize Gross and Obvious Defects. Successful completion of Gross and Obvious defect test required.
  6. Willingness to comply with work instructions given by Production Supervisor, Team Lead or assistant Team lead.
  7. Report to work on time and maintain regular and reliable attendance. Call the call-off line at least two hours in advance of start of shift if you will be late or unable to report to work.
  8. Follow system procedures and instructions, observe all safety requirements when operating machinery or equipment, and report any malfunction, quality concern, or safety hazards immediately after observance.
  9. Abide by Company Value Statement and the Company Standard Code of Conduct.
  10. Must complete all duties as assigned.
  1. HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The General Laborer is responsible for complying with the Company Health & Safety Program including the Occupational Health Legislation, regulations, standards and Company Health & Safety policies.

  1. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the following minimum education qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred.

  1. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the following minimum work experience qualifications:

  1. Manufacturing experience preferred.
  1. MINIMUM TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the following minimum training:

  1. SDS Sheets.
  2. Quality, Environmental Health & Safety, and other relevant Company Policy awareness.
  3. New Employee Orientation (when required).
  4. Successful Completion of Gross and Obvious test.
  1. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  2. Ability to bend, reach and stand for long periods of time.
  3. Good hand-eye coordination.
  4. Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  5. Ability to understand instructions.
  6. Ability to come in early or stay late or work another shift as needed.
