Job description

The General Laborer will assist the production areas in various tasks including sorting, counting, 5S activities, replenishing supplies, organizing stock, hanging blades, and assignments. May serve as a backup to other positions at the direction of management; other duties as assigned. This position continuously works around moving machinery, conveyors, and forklifts.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Perform work per work instructions and area metrics
2. Keep work area clean by disposing of empty boxes and cardboard, as well as keeping material organized
3. Inform proper personnel of material shortages
4. Train others in all areas as needed
5. Adhere to all safety requirements in the work area
6. Practice 5S principles

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Understand and follow verbal and written instructions
• Basic math skills
• Work well with others

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

Personal Protective Equipment Requirements

• Safety glasses – to protect eyes
• Leather shoes – to protect feet
• Gloves – to protect hands
