Job summary

UFP Industries in Magna, Utah, is seeking a General Labor team member to safely handle lumber products and verify material meets customer requirements. You will follow packings, tag, and load materials.

You will work with basic math, keep production sheets updated, and maintain a clean, safe work area while participating in safety and CI programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• No minimum experience required, but manufacturing or lumber experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.

Responsibilities

• Move and secure lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
• Stack finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
• Label material based on type, size, and count.
• Apply individual tags to material before/after treating/production.
• Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
• Band, bundles and secure material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Follow instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements.
• Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area.
• Maintain accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor.
• Record production on production sheets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as required.

• Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
