Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a General Labor worker to safely handle lumber products and verify materials meet customer requirements and company standards.

You will move, stack, label, and secure materials, operate a staple gun, and help keep the workspace clean while supporting other areas as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • No minimum experience required; manufacturing or lumber experience preferred.
  • Basic math skills preferred.
  • Applicant must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Move and secure lumber products and materials per instructions.
  • Stack finished products per bundle sizes and customer requirements.
  • Label material by type, size, and count.
  • Apply tags before/after treating/production.
  • Operate a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Bundle and secure material, attach corner protectors and loading sticks.
  • Follow stacking instructions per policy and customer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Record production on production sheets.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist with other areas by moving material and loading/unloading carts.
  • Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Summary

General labor is responsible for safely handling lumber products. Verifies material meets customer requirements and company expectations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions
  • Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
  • Labels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count
  • Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
  • Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment
  • Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
  • Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
  • Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
  • Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
  • Records production on production sheets
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area
  • Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
  • Performs other duties as required
Qualifications

Compensation & Benefit Information:

Hourly/Salary Pay Range: $18-20 hourly dependent on experience* *pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living Bonus/Incentive Pay (appropriate item below would be inserted based on the job): For hourly positions with incentive pay: Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
