Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a general labor team member to safely handle lumber products and verify material aligns with customer requirements and company standards. You will move, stack, label, and secure materials, assist with production, and help maintain a clean, safe work area.

The role emphasizes basic math, on-site duties, and adherence to safety programs. High school diploma preferred; 18+ years old; $17.00/hour.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to perform basic math and measurement tasks.
• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• No minimum experience required; manufacturing or lumber experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
• Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
• Labels material based on type, size, and count.
• Applies tags to material before/after treating/production.
• Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment.
• Binds, bundles and secures material with corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Maintains inventory of tags and reports discrepancies to supervisor.
• Records production on production sheets.
• Keeps a clean and organized work area.
• Assists with other areas by moving material and unloading carts.
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.

Job Summary

General labor is responsible for safely handling lumber products. Verifies material meets customer requirements and company expectations.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions
• Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
• Labels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count
• Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
• Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment
• Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
• Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
• Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
• Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
• Records production on production sheets
• Maintains a clean and organized work area
• Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required
• No minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Pay: $17.00/hour
