Job summary

Greif, a global leader in packaging, is hiring a General Labor at its Alsip, IL plant. Under direct supervision, you will perform routine activities including preparing job sites, ensuring safety, transporting materials, using power tools, building temporary structures, and collaborating with other plant workers.

Key responsibilities include cleaning and lubricating equipment, following directions to operate machinery, handling materials on lines, performing routine quality checks, and reporting

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to listen, understand directions and work in varied roles.

Responsibilities

• Routinely clean and lubricate equipment, maintain a manufacturing area free from debris and dirt, ready or put away tools as assigned.
• Closely follows directions to operate machinery, hold or supply routine materials and tools, and load or unload items on machinery and assembly lines.
• Performs routine property care activities.
• Performs any non-technical routine tasks at the plant.
• Routine quality checks on finished products.
• Reports any issues to supervisor or higher-level colleague.
• Follow safety regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Under direct supervision, performs a variety of routine activities including, but not limited to preparing job sites, ensuring safety conditions, transporting materials, using power tools and other equipment, building temporary structures, and collaborating with other plant workers.

Compensation Range: The pay for this position is $21.22 per hour. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
