Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

To perform duties related to combining, portioning and serving of food, transportation of food and supplies, facility and equipment cleaning and ware washing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and portion food items according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards
• Combine ingredients and assist in food preparation tasks under the direction of kitchen supervisors
• Serve food to patrons in a timely and professional manner while maintaining food safety standards
• Transport food, supplies, and equipment throughout the facility safely and efficiently
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen facilities, work surfaces, and equipment in compliance with health codes
• Perform ware washing duties including loading, operating, and unloading commercial dishwashing equipment
• Organize and stock kitchen supplies, ingredients, and equipment in designated storage areas
• Assist with inventory management and report supply shortages to supervisory staff
• Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols to prevent contamination and ensure customer safety
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management regarding operational needs and concerns

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Willingness to follow food safety and sanitation protocols

Preferred Qualifications:

• Food Handler Certification or ServSafe Food Safety Certification
• Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment and dishwashing machines
• Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and knife skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Experience with inventory management and stock organization
