Job summary

Henry Ford Health West Bloomfield Hospital is seeking a dedicated Food Service Assistant to join the Nutrition Services team. You will prepare and serve meals to patients, employees, and visitors, ensuring nutritious options and compassionate, accurate service in a busy hospital environment.

You will also handle cashier duties, assist in the diet office or dish room, help manage inventory, and support daily operations to keep the department organized and compliant with safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or 6 months to 1 year of previous work experience in a food service or cash handling setting.
• Ability to read, write, speak English, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Experience as dishwasher or in assisted living facility, waitress, and cashiering strongly preferred.
