Job description

The Governors of Ellington Primary School are looking to recruit a motivated, versatile and hard-working kitchen assistant to support the service of our school meals from September 2025.



Our School:

Ellington Primary School is a happy, friendly, caring and exciting place where every child is valued and children come first. The school is at the heart of the community and we have a wonderful set of pupils, staff, governors and parents/carers who contribute to the ongoing success of the school.



Working pattern:

10 hours per week: Monday to Friday 11:30 – 13:30, term time plus 4 days

Potential to increase hours in the future



The role:

Working as a team and using your own initiative, daily duties will involve washing catering equipment and undertaking general cleaning of the kitchen. Assisting the unit manager with food preparation, if required, whilst maintaining hygiene standards within service deadlines. The role will involve regular stooping, bending, lifting and carrying.

You have a can-do attitude and a flexible approach to duties

You are reliable and able to complete tasks in a timely manner

You can relate to both adults and primary aged children

You are familiar with working in a small team environment
