Job summary

SEPAC Inc. is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to inspect materials, products and assemblies for conformance to specifications. The role involves data collection, calibration tracking and collaboration with the quality team on the shop floor.

The candidate should have 5 years of experience in quality inspections, strong math/statistics skills, and hands-on experience with ISO/QS/TS/AS management systems. Proficiency with a CMM is preferred and on-site work is expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Inspect materials/products for surface defects (cracks, pits, incomplete welds)
• Support Quality Management System on shop floor and ensure compliance
• Compare parts with drawings/parts lists to confirm assembly
• Conduct first article data collection, documentation, and verification
• Verify dimensions of product/materials
• Reject and document defective parts
• Test parts for hardness, plating, surface finish
• Test for structural defects such as leaks or internal cracks
• Verify clearance and movement for mechanisms
• Run and operate a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) as needed
• Inspect incoming materials/products as required
• Maintain calibration logs and track calibration dates
• Perform other duties as assigned

Summary

Inspects, tests and/or measures materials, products, installations or other work for conformance to specifications. Discards or rejects products, materials, or equipment not meeting specifications. Trains and collaborates with other General Inspectors.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Examines material or product for surface defects such as cracks/pits/incomplete welds
• Assists in maintaining the SEPAC Quality Management System/Ensures product & process compliance on the shop floor
• Compares product with parts list/drawing to ensure completion of assembly
• Conducts and supports the first article process, data collection and documentation, etc.
• Verifies specified dimensions of product/material
• Rejects/documents issues for defective parts
• Tests parts for hardness/plating/surface finish
• Tests parts for structural defects such as leaks/internal cracks
• Tests mechanisms for clearance/freedom of movement
• Maintains the ability to run and operate a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine)
• Inspects incoming products/materials as needed
• Responsible for calibration/log to track calibration dates
• Other duties as assigned
