Job summary

Zachry Group is seeking a seasoned electrical foreman in our industrial construction operations to lead multiple crews, coordinate daily installation activities, and ensure work aligns with project specs and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years in industrial electrical construction with at least 3 years in supervisory roles, deep knowledge of NEC, and the ability to read drawings and manage field issues.

Qualifications

  • Must have extensive knowledge of industrial electrical construction methods, materials, equipment, and installation techniques.
  • Must be able to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Must possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must have knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), applicable electrical standards, and industry best practices.
  • Must have basic computer skills and the ability to complete reports and documentation.
  • Must be able to identify, evaluate, and resolve field construction issues while maintaining schedule and quality requirements.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of construction safety requirements, LOTO procedures, and safe electrical work practices.
  • Must be able to effectively coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials.
  • Must be willing to follow all company directives and safety procedures.
  • Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying industrial environments as required.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to multiple electrical crews through foreman supervisors.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily electrical installation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, and work packages to ensure proper execution of work.
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, equipment, and work schedules to meet project goals.
  • Monitor productivity, quality, and schedule performance of assigned crews.
  • Perform regular jobsite inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Work closely with project management, engineering, quality control, and other crafts to resolve issues and maintain workflow.
  • Assist with workforce planning, employee development, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Identify and resolve field issues, including safety concerns, material shortages, installation conflicts, and constructability challenges.
  • Participate in planning meetings, safety meetings, and coordination activities.
  • Ensure proper documentation of work progress, manpower reports, and production tracking.

Preferred Additional Qualifications
  • Current Zachry or Zachry ROF'ed employee.
  • Previous experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
  • NCCER Electrical Certification or Journeyman Electrician certification.
  • Experience on large industrial, refining, petrochemical, power, LNG, or manufacturing construction projects.
  • Additional supervisory, leadership, or craft-related certifications.
Reporting To:

This position is responsible for multiple electrical crews led by foreman supervisors in their daily work activities. May manage 4 or more crews, each consisting of approximately 5 to 15 employees. Foremen directly report to the Electrical General Foreman, who is responsible for overall coordination, productivity, safety, quality, and schedule performance of assigned electrical operations.

Physical Requirements
  • Employees will be required to engage in extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, sitting, and lifting.
  • Will talk and hear to communicate effectively with crews, supervisors, and other personnel.
  • Will use arms and hands to handle tools, materials, equipment, and perform work-related tasks.
  • May be required to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work from platforms or scaffolding while utilizing required fall protection.
  • May be required to work in confined spaces and other challenging industrial environments.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions, including heat, rain, cold, and wind, while wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, arc-flash-rated equipment, respirators, high-visibility vests, gloves, and steel-toed work boots.
