Job summary

NPAworldwide seeks a seasoned service manager to oversee a spindle repair facility in Winston-Salem, NC. You will guide engineers and technicians, determine repair costs, and coordinate with a service center to optimize workload and repair efficiency.

The role emphasizes technical knowledge of high-speed spindle bearings, machining/grinding experience, and strong communication. Salary is competitive with comprehensive benefits; location is on-site in the US.

Qualifications

• Technical knowledge of super precision rolling element bearing applications in high-speed rotating equipment is required.
• Experience in machine tool service or machining/grinding is highly desired.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; well organized and customer-focused.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct all functions of service facility.
• Supervise and mentor Repair Technicians as direct reports.
• Coordinate with Midwest Service Center to balance workload and direct repairs to the most efficient facility.
• Support Sales with guidance and technical expertise to answer questions and provide cost and schedule estimates.
• Provide guidance on spindle failure causes and potential improvements.
• Review and finalize spindle evaluation reports and determine repair costs for quotes.
• Schedule and assign spindle repairs based on technician experience and proficiency.
• Review Final Repair Reports to ensure standards are met and customer performance is ensured.

Technical knowledge of super precision rolling element bearing application in high speed rotating equipment is required. Specific experience in machine tool service or machining / grinding is highly desired.

General Position Responsibilities:

• Oversee and direct all functions of service facility
• Supervise and mentor Repair Technicians as direct reports
• Coordinate with Midwest Service Center to balance workload and direct repairs to the facility that can perform the repair most efficiently
• Support Sales with guidance and technical expertise to answer questions and provide cost and schedule estimates
• Provide guidance on spindle cause of failure and potential improvements
• Review and finalize spindle evaluation reports - Determine repair costs of both purchased components and repair labor to formulate quotes
• Schedule and assign spindle repairs to Repair Technicians in keeping with their experience and proficiency
• Review and evaluate Final Repair Reports and spindle repairs to ensure that all was completed to standards and spindle will perform for the customer

Qualifications:

Technical knowledge of super precision rolling element bearing application in high-speed rotating equipment is Highly Desired. Specific experience in machine tool service or machining / grinding is highly desired.

Qualifications:

• Strong ethical / moral character and internally motivated
• A mechanical or electromechanical background of experience capable of performing engineering / calculations of rotating equipment machine elements
• Proficiency in super precision rolling element bearing engineering and application
