Job summary

Service Luxury Style in Las Vegas is seeking a seasoned Maintenance Engineer to oversee preventive and corrective maintenance across hotel, casino, back-of-house and retail spaces.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in hotel/casino maintenance, relevant certifications, and ability to work varied shifts in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least five years of hotel/casino maintenance experience.
• Experience with Fire Life Safety, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC&R, Central Utility Plants, Boilers, Chillers, Cooling Towers.
• Experience with electrical and lighting systems (Crestron or Lutron).
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and with all levels of staff.
• Must have OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• NV Driver's License required before entering position.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and ongoing maintenance for hotel, casino, back of house, and retail areas.
• Respond to maintenance calls from guests and departments.
• Repair mechanical/electrical equipment including HVAC, refrigeration, pumps, boilers, and energy management systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, motor controls, lighting, and UPS.
• Read and interpret blueprints; relocate table games and slot machines per layout.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and report unsafe conditions.
• Work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Report to the Director of Engineering.

Job Description:

It is the primary responsibility of the Engineer to perform preventive and ongoing maintenance of the hotel, casino, back of house, and retail areas within the property. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental policies, practices and procedures

Job Focus:

Focus is on, but not limited to the following:

• Engineers must be proficient and versatile in three or more building trades: electrical (low and medium voltages), painting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC&R, commercial kitchen equipment, commercial swimming pools, and general mechanics
• Receives and responds to maintenance calls within the hotel and casino from guests and other departments
• Maintains and or repairs drywall, painting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC&R, electrical, kitchen equipment, commercial swimming pools, fan coils units, VAV’s, AHU’s, chillers, pumps, boilers, cooling towers and energy management systems
• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical/electrical equipment ranging from heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, refrigeration equipment
• Troubleshoots electrical systems, motor controls, lighting dimming systems and UPS systems
• Responds to Fire life safety system alarm notifications
• Reads and understands blueprints
• Maintains a property wide clean and safe work area
• Relocates table games, slot machines according to floor layout and surveillance requirements
• Handles guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction
• Completes additional duties/tasks as assigned by the Supervisor
• Reports to the Director of Engineering.

Desired Qualifications:

• A High School diploma or equivalent is required
• At least five (5) years of experience in hotel and casino maintenance is required
• At least five (5) years of experience working with Fire Life Safety Systems, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC&R, Central Utility Plants, Boilers, Chillers, Cooling Towers
• Previous experience working with electrical and lighting systems (i.e. Crestron or Lutron dimmer systems)
• Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of business
• A professional appearance and demeanor must be maintained at all times
• Must be available to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly in English, both written and verbal
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are required
• Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds
• A proven ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator
• Operating knowledge of and experience with hand and power tools and powered equipment
• Operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment such as: telephones, copier, fax machines, Email, Windows, Microsoft office, HotSOS
• Must possess a minimum of two certifications - Clark County, Nevada NEC Card, EPA Universal Card, Certified Pool Operator Card, Backflow Preventer Card
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
• A valid NV Driver’s License is required and must be obtained before entering this position
