Job summary

NAVWAR in Washington, DC seeks a seasoned engineer to lead systems engineering across the acquisition lifecycle. The role directs multidisciplinary teams, guides design, development, test & evaluation, integration, and in-service engineering to deliver mission-focused solutions.

The successful candidate will serve as an expert adviser to senior leadership, ensure system readiness, and apply lessons learned to maximize programmatic alignment and efficiencies across the technical domain.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience at or equivalent to GS-13 or NH-03 in Federal service or equivalent private/public sector.
• Leading systems engineering efforts across acquisition lifecycle; design, development, test & evaluation, integration, or in-service engineering.

Job description

Major Duties (Job Description)

• You will manage professional engineering and scientific work where the incumbent has knowledge and skills in two or more professional engineering series for which no single discipline is paramount or when a discipline is not covered.
• You will be responsible for acquisition development, fielding, and sustainment of the program, this includes incorporating standardization, commonality, configuration management, risk management, design for logistics support etc.
• You will be directing, managing, chairing, advising and reporting on engineering studies, projects, and experiments.
• You will serve as a recognized expert and consultant to ensure reliability and accuracy in the identification, development and implementation of recommended solutions to highly complex problems.
• You will provide authoritative technical, scientific, and/or professional advice to senior level leadership concerning unusual or critical problems that often affect the work of internal and external stakeholders.
• You will coordinate system of systems engineering, applying lessons learned to maximize programmatic alignment and efficiencies across the technical domain.

Qualification Summary

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band NH-03 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading systems engineering efforts across the acquisition lifecycle; conducting design, development, test & evaluation, integration, or in-service engineering for system engineering projects; resolving technical issues, system-level reviews, and/or ensure mission readiness and compliance. Compensation:

$143,913-$197,200 per year
