Job Description
PURPOSE:
Perform close tolerance production machining. Setup and operate all machine tools including CNC and numerical controlled and tracing equipment to perform machining operations such as turning, boring, milling, etc.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Requires use of job knowledge acquired over a two-year period to set up and operate all Die Machines. Must read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and process sheets. Uses wide variety of precision measuring instruments. Must have knowledge of shop mathematics. Set up and operate tracing equipment. Be familiar with general numerical control theory and how system operates.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND POSSIBLE HAZARDS:
Infrequent exposure to disabling injuries during set-up operations and from overhead and boom cranes
