Job description

CPP Clinics is a leading provider of medical aesthetics services, offering innovative treatments across multiple medspas under the CPP umbrella. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional patient experiences and outstanding results, utilizing advanced technologies and personalized care.

Purpose:

The purpose of the General Dermatology Medical Assistant is to provide clinical and documentation support to a General Dermatology Physician.

Hourly rate: $24-26 / hr. based on experience

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Job Duties:
  1. Provide care according to physician's instruction and in accordance with recognized techniques and procedures and established standards and policies to maintain the health and general well-being of the patient.
  2. Provide preoperative and post-operative teaching for both patient and family members.
  3. Assist during surgery or other procedures as indicated.
  4. Set up patient for surgery including prepping area, draping with sterile drapes, setting up clean tray with anesthesia and preparing instruments.
  5. Scrub in as assistant to surgeon. Hand instruments and cut suture, keep operative area clean and organized.
  6. Administer anesthesia as directed by physician.
  7. Prepare equipment and paperwork for surgery.
  8. Maintain appropriate records and documentation.
  9. Rooming & completing patient intake / obtaining HPI.
  10. Scribing while assisting with exams; attention to detail is key.
  11. Use clean and sterile techniques throughout the practice.
  12. Ensure OSHA and HIPAA compliance.
  13. Assist in wound care, suture removals, staple removal.
  14. Set up and assist with procedures (biopsies, excisions, lasers, injectables, etc.).
  15. Prepare and stock rooms.
  16. Schedule future appointments when applicable.
  17. Return patient voicemails throughout the day, ensuring all calls are returned before the end of the day.
  18. Follow protocols to ensure Quality MIPS measures are completed for each patient.
  19. Maintain knowledge of current products; discuss and recommend them to patients.
  20. Set up all lasers and assist with treatments (eye shields, numbing, photos, etc.).
  21. Exercise problem-solving and conflict resolution skills when dealing with patients.
  22. Ensure patients feel welcome and are treated with empathy.
  23. Address patient complaints and issues promptly, involving management when necessary.
  24. Direct staff to appropriate supervisors to streamline workflows.
  25. Perform other duties as assigned by Clinical Supervisor and/or Clinical Manager.
Qualifications:
  1. Knowledge of medical terminology, cosmetic procedures, and skincare products.
  2. 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office or spa setting.
  3. Dermatology experience required.
  4. EMA experience preferred.
  5. Experience answering phones in a medical environment.
  6. Excellent communication, organizational, and management skills.
  7. Proficient computer and typing skills.
