Job description

New York Family Dentistry is excited to expand our services to include Oral Surgery alongside top-notch general dentistry. As our organization evolves, we're seeking passionate individuals to join us in making a difference in the lives of our patients.

Salary: ranging from up to $400,000 annually

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general dental procedures including cleanings, fillings, crowns, and preventive care, while utilizing oral surgery skills for extractions, minor soft tissue surgeries, and bone grafting.
  • Conduct routine surgical procedures, such as simple tooth extractions and wisdom teeth removal.
  • Evaluate and diagnose oral and maxillofacial conditions, referring complex cases to specialists when necessary.
  • Administer anesthesia and sedation for surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Collaborate with other dental specialists and healthcare providers to develop treatment plans for complex cases.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care, including patient education and follow-up.
  • Stay current with advancements in oral surgery techniques and technologies, attending relevant continuing education programs.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documenting surgical procedures, patient progress, and treatment outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.
  • Completion of an accredited oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program.
  • Licensed to Practice in the State (e.g., Dental and Anesthesia Licenses)
  • Board certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) or equivalent certification body.
  • Proficiency in a wide range of oral surgical procedures, including but not limited to tooth extractions, dental implants, jaw surgeries, and oral pathology management.
  • Experience in administering anesthesia and sedation for surgical procedures.
  • Willingness to stay updated on advancements in oral and maxillofacial surgery techniques and technologies through continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Compliance with all relevant legal and ethical standards in the practice of oral surgery.
