Job description

Dr. Costa Family Dentistry is looking for an Associate Dentist. This is an ideal position for a doctor starting their career that is looking for mentorship. Dr. Costa is able and willing to mentor a newer doctor from treatment planning to patient communication, and delivery of care. This position requires the flexibility to cover hygiene.

Dr. Costa Family Dentistry is a community-based office with the support and resources of Simply Dental Management. Our Resource Center Teams cover the business and administrative support sides of the practice to allow our doctors to focus on providing outstanding patient care.

Principle Responsibilities And Duties

  • Provide and manage direct patient care, including examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population.
  • Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
  • Refer patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
  • Direct and coordinate the patient care activities of dental technical and support staff as required.
  • Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
  • As appropriate to the position, participates in specified health promotion, education, and/or prevention programs.
  • Hygiene Duties as needed. Perform full mouth prophy and from time-to-time quadrant scaling and root planning.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required

  • Doctorate degree in Dental Surgery or Dental Medicine, MA State Dental License or eligibility
  • 0-3 years of experience in a dental setting.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements
  • Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of dental evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in your area of expertise
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of dental surgical care
  • Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress
  • Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients regarding correct usage
