Job description

Position Summary

The Dentist is responsible for delivering quality and efficient dental care to the Health Center patient population, serving the medically underserved community with a mission-driven approach.

Team and Location

The Dental Team at Mary's Center is currently seeking full-time, part-time, and per diem General Dentists across our three dental clinics.

Reportability

This position reports directly to the Vice President of Dental Services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and comprehensive oral examinations.
  • Maintain high standards of dental care quality.
  • Deliver procedures such as fillings, endodontics, extractions, partials, crowns and bridges, and sealants.
  • Diagnose dental diseases and oral pathologies; develop and prioritize treatment plans.
  • Provide ongoing dental education to patients.
  • Accurately document all interventions and services provided.
  • Oversee the dental hygienist and dental assistant during procedures.
  • Assist in the purchase and maintenance of dental equipment.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure best practices in dental and other health services.
  • Treat emergency cases involving moderate to severe dental infections.
  • Participate in agency-wide and clinical meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have completed an ADA-accredited dental program, hold a DDS/DMD degree, DEA certification, and a valid Washington DC license. Bilingual abilities in Spanish are preferred.

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit regularly; reach with hands and arms; walk, stoop, kneel, crouch; talk and hear; and lift objects up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

Primarily office and clinic settings with moderate noise; may be exposed to outside weather conditions such as cold, heat, and humidity.
