Job description

Overview

Location: Fort Carson, CO

Duty Hours: The healthcare worker (HCW) shall normally provide services for 80 hours per two-week period. Services shall be required for a period of 8.5 to 9 hours, including an uncompensated .5 hour or 1 hour lunch break, depending on shift length, between the hours of 0645 - 1515, Monday through Friday.

Pay: $110/hr

Position Type: Independent Contractor (1099)

Responsibilities
  • Examines teeth, gums, and related tissues using dental instruments, dental radiographs, and other diagnostic instruments. Provides general dentistry procedures to include simple and complex restorations using approved restorative materials.
  • Examines, diagnoses, and treats periodontal structures and diseases.
  • Examines, diagnoses, and treats diseases of the dental pulp and other dental tissues affecting the vitality of teeth and establishes treatment plan.
  • Treats exposure of the dental pulp by pulp capping or removal of the dental pulp from the pulp chamber and root canal.
  • Examines, diagnoses, and provides fixed and removable prosthetic procedures as approved by the local credentials committee.
  • Examines, diagnoses, and treats specific teeth for extraction and/or surgical removal as approved by the local credentials committee.
  • Prescribes medications, enters workload into workload data reporting system, and consults with and refers patients to appropriate specialists, when necessary, conducts oral health counseling, tobacco cessation counseling, and diet counseling.
  • Examines, diagnoses, and treats other conditions of the oral cavity as approved by the local credentials committee.
Qualifications

Degree/Education (5.2.4): Doctor of Medical in Dentistry (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). Graduate from an accredited dental school approved by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association (ADA). Specialty Dentist must be a graduate of a dental specialty training program that is accredited by the CODA of the ADA.

Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: Must have or must obtain a current, valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number prior to performing the contract services. Contractors must have and must maintain a current, active, valid, unrestricted state license to practice medicine in one of the 50 states in the United States, or the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands as required to obtain or renew a DEA registration number under the then effective DEA rules.

Experience: Shall have been employed for at least one (1) year in the last (2) years on a full-time basis in the practice of dentistry or be a recent (1-year) graduate of an accredited, post-graduate dentistry training program.
