Job description

Description

This job involves preparing the site for daily work, performing housekeeping, and completing duties necessary for daily activities.

Responsibilities
  1. Operate jackhammers and drills to break up concrete or pavement.
  2. Position, join, align, and seal structural components such as concrete wall sections and pipes.
  3. Shovel cement and other materials into portable cement mixers; mix, pour, and spread concrete.
  4. Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
  5. Finish freshly poured cement or concrete using floats, trowels, screeds, or powered tools.
  6. Tend to machines that pump concrete, grout, and sand.
  7. Maintain pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power or heat materials like asphalt.
  8. Lubricate, clean, and repair machinery, equipment, and tools.
  9. Operate and maintain sampling devices in hazardous environments.
  10. Assist in building and positioning forms for concrete pouring; dismantle forms after use.
  11. Clean and prepare construction sites, following waste handling guidelines.
  12. Control traffic near work zones.
  13. Dig ditches or trenches, backfill, and level earth according to specifications.
  14. Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, and other temporary structures.
  15. Load, unload, and distribute materials, machinery, and tools.
  16. Observe safety rules and wear personal protective equipment.
  17. Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Plan work and select proper tools.
  • Identify differences in size, shape, and form of objects.
  • Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
  • Make decisions based on measurable criteria.
  • Work at heights without fear.
Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with relevant experience. Knowledge of field concepts and practices. Works under supervision, following instructions and guidelines. Reports to a supervisor or manager.

Physical Requirements
  • Stand (70%), walk (20%), sit (10%).
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Push and pull with specified force.
  • Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, and finger as per symbols.

All safety and project rules must be followed, including wearing safety equipment.
