Job summary

Masterworks, a NYC-based fintech, seeks a General Counsel to own the legal function and report to the CEO. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role focusing on day-to-day drafting, negotiations, and strategic legal work to support securities offerings and corporate transactions.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years with a top firm and in-house experience in capital markets or M&A, J.D., and U.S. bar admission.

Qualifications

• Hands-on with securities offerings and corporate transactions.
• Experience in capital markets, M&A, or funds is preferred.
• In-house practice with independent execution of matters.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day legal work, drafting and negotiating independently.
• Oversee Regulation A reporting and related SEC filings.
• Structure and drive corporate transactions from start to finish.
• Negotiate commercial agreements with partners and vendors.
• Maintain governance over investment vehicles and compliance policies.
• Provide cross-functional legal support across teams.
