A prominent and long-standing independent live entertainment venue, based in Southern California, is seeking a highly motivated and independent attorney to serve as its General Counsel on a strict contingency basis. We are actively engaged in a significant litigation lawsuits, including against a dominant player in the live entertainment industry.

This is an exceptional and career-defining opportunity for a driven attorney to assume lead counsel responsibilities in a high-profile case. This role offers an oppurtunity to lead litigation strategy and carries the potential for substantial financial upside upon a successful outcome.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead counsel for all litigation matters related to the ongoing and complex commercial claims.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research, analysis, and discovery.
  • Draft, file, and manage all necessary legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
  • Manage all phases of complex litigation, from discovery and depositions through motion practice, trial preparation if need be
  • Develop and execute a strategic litigation plan in close collaboration with company leadership.
  • Represent the company in all court proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations in Southern California.
  • Provide sound legal counsel and guidance on related business matters as they arise during the course of litigation.
  • Active license to practice law in the State of California is mandatory.
  • A recent law school graduate (2020-2024 J.D. preferred)
  • Strong academic credentials from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills are paramount.
  • A deep understanding of or demonstrated keen interest in unfair competition, business law, and commercial litigation.
  • Highly ambitious, self-starting, and confident in the ability to independently manage and drive a significant case.
  • Outstanding oral communication, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills.
  • Proven ability to take initiative, manage a demanding caseload, and thrive in a results-oriented environment.
