Job summary

Larson Maddox is seeking a General Counsel to serve as the company's sole legal leader and trusted advisor to executive leadership. This position offers the opportunity to build, shape, and scale the legal function from the ground up.

The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor and active California Bar status, 5+ years of experience, and a strong background in labor and employment law, plus healthcare regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a legal role.

• Experience advising on healthcare regulatory matters.

• Partner with HR, Compliance, Operations and executives to mitigate risk and drive objectives.
• Support corporate governance, risk management and strategic growth including acquisitions.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the company's sole legal leader, building and developing the legal function.
• Act as a trusted advisor to exectuve leadership on key business, legal and strategic initiatives.
• Provide counsel on a braod range of labor and employment matters, including employee relations, workplace investigations, terminations, policy development, performance management, and employment law compliance.
• Advise on healthcare regulatory and compliance matters, including federal and state healthcare laws, privacy concerns, and operational risk management.
• Manage litigation, including strategy development, coordination with outside counsel, and oversight of case progress.
• Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and vendor contracts.
• Partner cross-functionally with HR, Compliance, Operations and executive leadersgip to mitigate risk and drive business objectives.
• Support corporate governance, risk management, and strategic growth initiatives, including acquisitions and business expansion efforts.
