Job summary

Paragon Professional Services seeks an experienced on-site Construction Manager to lead field activities in El Paso, TX. You will manage safety, schedule, and budget performance, coordinating with subcontractors and QC teams to deliver quality work on time.

About this position

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage the onsite performance of construction to achieve safety, schedule and financial objectives.
  • Manage a daily standup before work begins each day.
  • Prepare and maintain a three-week look-a-head schedule of activities from long range planning with the project assigned QC update at all times.
  • Participate in and including preparing pay applications provided to the government.
  • Maintain a positive good work order in the field office.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work site at the close of each workday.
  • Enforce safe work practices with updated Activity Hazard Analysis and their risks mitigated.
  • Cooperated with Quality Control to organize and maintain follow-up inspections of each feature of work and workmanship in alignment with the contract documents.
  • Maintain an amicable work relationship with subcontractors.
  • Serves as the on-site point of contact for Subcontractors and coordinates their requirements within the limits of the approved baseline schedule.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications
  • Education Requirements: High School and relevant trade or craft certifications.
  • Level of Experience Requirements: 15 years of experience in a wide range of trades and projects.
  • OSHA 30 mandatory.
  • Valid USACE QCM Certificate.
  • Frequent moves across the United State are anticipated.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
  • Demonstrated drive of the project daily each workday.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of network analysis scheduling.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contract management of subcontractors, suppliers and vendors.
  • Demonstrated presentation verbal, written and audio visual of progress meeting minutes to client representatives.
  • Provide an onsite presence on a daily basis while work is progressing in the field.
  • Be available for ad hoc meetings for outages, issues and complications that arise.
Preferred
  • Some trade of craft secondary education or equivalent years of experience.
  • A credible certification in some trade specialty.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will not have supervisory responsibilities.

DOT Covered/Safety-Sensitive Role Requirements
  • This position does perform DOT "safety-sensitive" functions (as defined under 49 CFR Part 40) and is subject to all federal requirements related to Department of Transportation requirements for those performing, or on-call to perform, "safety-sensitive" functions.
  • Employees must provide a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC).
Necessary Physical Requirements
  • Employees must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.
  • Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Must be able to lift a 50 lbs. of awkward load into a pickup truck daily.
  • Must be able to walk and maneuver on rough terrain and slopes that are somewhat graded.
  • Demonstrated judgement of unsafe conditions, building and environmentally compromised spaces.

Physical Setting

Adverse to finish office space and clean up.

Schedule and Flexibility

Maintain good order such that construction work is executed within the contract hours or schedule calendar.

Other Pertinent Work Details

Flexibility to the demands of the work requirements.

Outages of utilities, Startup, TAB and commissioning activities may dictate extended work hours, weekends and holidays.

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance levels required and must also be able to obtain access to military installations.
