Fountain Services, LLC in North Carolina seeks a General Construction Project Manager to lead complex electrical project deployments from budgeting to close‑out. You will coordinate with owners, architects, and subcontractors to ensure timely, on‑budget delivery of multi‑discipline projects.

Ideal candidates bring 5–8 years in field construction management, leadership ability, and strong problem‑solving skills.

Qualifications

• Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree or equivalent experience.
• Field construction management experience (5–8 years, including supervisory skills).
• Leadership ability and strong sense of urgency.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; drafting and computer skills.
• Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting; understanding PM controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee budgets, costs, and procurement to ensure project profitability.
• Negotiate subcontractor and material purchases for cost efficiency.
• Set up job procedures to ensure timely buyout, shop drawing approval, and material delivery.
• Understand construction risk including insurance, bidding, LDs, and general conditions.
• Maintain schedule accuracy and update schedules using scheduling software.
• Build and maintain relationships with Owner, Architect, and Subcontractors.
• Work with Superintendent to develop and enforce safety plans.

Role: General Construction Project Manager

The Project Manager is responsible for overall management of construction projects, ensuring successful completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of project budgeting and costing
• Negotiate cost‑effective subcontract and material purchases
• Set up and implement job procedures to assure timely buyout, shop drawing approval, and material delivery
• Understand construction risk (sub‑credit, insurance, bidding, purchasing, LDs, general conditions, etc.)
• Keep project on schedule and create and update a schedule using scheduling software
• Develop and maintain good relationships with Owner, Architect, and Subcontractors
• Work with Superintendent to develop safety plans and implement safety procedures
• Maintain timely and accurate reporting to management
• Accurately update/forecast general‑conditions cost, budgets, contingency, and make cost projections with consistency
• Review contract conditions and ensure compliance with all terms
• Supervise documentation of all significant project events (e.g., accidents, delays, Change Orders)
• Participate in preconstruction services and activities
• Accurately and thoroughly scope subcontractor bids
• Maintain quality control and ensure integrity and excellence of completed projects
• Understand owner draw process (schedule of values and cost‑supported vs. percentage‑complete draws)
• Avoid or mitigate claims and conflict
• Complete all job close‑out procedures

Minimum Requirements

• Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree or equivalent experience
• Field construction management experience (5–8 years, including supervisory skills)
• Leadership ability
• Problem‑solving ability and strong sense of urgencyOrganizational and communication skills
• Drafting and computer skills
• Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting
• Thorough understanding of all project management control systems (scheduling, cost control, procurement, and estimating)
• OSHA 30 Training Certification, or attainment within six months of hire, with maintenance of active certification status
