Job summary

Met-Con Companies, Inc. seeks a Construction Helper to support carpenters, masons, drywall, and other trades on diverse projects around Faribault and nearby areas.

You will perform a variety of tasks, including carrying, cleaning, measuring, cutting, mixing, and material handling to maintain safe and efficient job sites. You will lift, carry, and operate basic hand tools under supervision, follow supervisor directions, and work as part of a team.

• Must be physically capable of performing construction tasks and lifting materials.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

• Assists various trades including but not limited to carpenters, concrete finishers, drywall, masons, millwrights, operators, and steel erectors. Will perform a variety of construction tasks, including but not limited to carrying, cleaning, climbing, cutting, digging, fastening, holding, lifting, measuring, mixing, raking, spreading, sweeping, and securing of materials and/or equipment.

Job Duties

• Assists trade by performing duties of lesser proficiency in construction, erection, installation and repair of wooden/metal structures
• Assisting job superintendents in the monitoring of tools located at the jobsite
• Digs and fills holes and trenches
• Lifts, moves, measures, cuts, fastens, holds and assists in the installation of building materials
• Mixes, pours, and spreads materials, using hand tools
• Sprays materials such as water, sealers, paint, form oil or steam through hoses to clean, coat, or seal surfaces
• Strips forms and form materials are to be discarded; cleans and preps reusable forms
• Tears down, disassembles and demolish building structures and moves/disposes of materials
• Drives self-propelled buggy or wheelbarrow to transport concrete from mixer to source of supply to place of deposit
• Operates power tools to perform such work as cutting, demo, fastening, and transporting of materials
• Mixes concrete, using portable mixer, pours, places and spreads concrete and mixes cement products used in the patching, grouting, or dry packing of concrete
• Cleans work area, tools, equipment, and materials
• Performs such final cleanup duties as cleaning ceiling, floors, walls, and windows of a building after construction has been completed

General Superintendent/Project Superintendent

7:00am-3:30pm (Hours may vary depending on job)

Schedule

Monday-Friday (Saturday-Sunday depending on job)
