Job summary

HES Facilities Management is hiring General Cleaners in New Orleans, LA. The role involves cleaning and maintaining facilities across school campuses, with responsibilities including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restroom sanitation, trash removal, and basic surface cleaning.

The position supports 2nd and 3rd shifts and weekends, with options for full-time or part-time schedules. Training and benefits are provided as part of a structured facilities team environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Experience in general cleaning and facilities maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dust, mop, vacuum and clean floors.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and locker rooms.
• Remove trash and recycling; maintain cleanliness of desks, doors, glass and fixtures.
• Washing windows and interior surfaces; responsibility for entry and common areas.
• Support snow/ice removal and other duties as directed.

General Cleaners are responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of all assigned areas. General Cleaners perform any combination of cleaning duties to maintain the daily upkeep and cleanliness of the facilityEssential FunctionsSweeping, dusting, dust mopping, damp mopping, vacuuming, extracting carpet, stripping and waxing floors, removing trash, recycling, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and locker rooms, polishing outside area within 10 feet of entryways, washing windows, removal or snow and ice, cleaning of desks/walls/ furniture/ doors/ entry glass/ interior glass/counter tops/chalkboards/ whiteboards/blinds and light fixtures, and any other duties as directed by custodial supervisor or his/her designated representative.
