Position Summary

Performs daily cleaning duties and special cleaning projects in accordance with standard procedures and contract objectives. Uses cleaning equipment such as automatic floor machines, commercial vacuums, wet mops, large wringers, and other necessary tools, chemicals, and supplies.

Description

This is a Seasonal Position.

Responsibilities

1. Perform general clean-up of all areas of the building as directed.
2. Maintain and fully equip rooms.
3. Clean and sanitize offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchenettes, and public areas.
4. Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
5. Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
6. Gather and empty trash and recycling, transporting waste as needed.
7. Clean glass surfaces and mirrors to a height accessible from the floor.
8. Polish metal fixtures or trimmings.
9. Handle non-routine cleaning, emergency cleaning, and heavy cleaning jobs upon request.
10. Maintain and upkeep cleaning equipment, supplies, and products.
11. Report repairs and replacements needed.
12. Mix and dispose of cleaning solutions properly.
13. Follow health and safety regulations.
14. Ensure safe storage and care of cleaning products.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Floor Cleaning

1. Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors.
2. Spot clean carpets.
3. Steam-clean or shampoo carpets as needed.
4. Use powered scrubbing and polishing machines following proper instructions.
5. Use chemical cleaners and equipment carefully to prevent damage.
6. Follow instructions for chemical use and equipment handling.
7. Other duties as assigned.

Bathroom Cleaning

1. Clean toilets, urinals, sinks, baths, showers, and drinking fountains.
2. Replenish soap, paper towels, toilet paper.
3. Empty trash and sanitary bins.
4. Dust vents and fans.
5. Clean piping and grout as needed.
6. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Skills and Abilities

• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills and teamwork.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive motions.
• At least 3 years of proven cleaning experience.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Reliable, punctual, adaptable, and with good time management.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Language

English preferred; Spanish is a plus.
