Job description

Job Summary:
The General Cleaner at Shawnee Lodge & Cottages is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of all areas within the property. This includes guest rooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces. The General Cleaner will ensure that all areas are kept to high standards of cleanliness to provide a pleasant and comfortable experience for guests. This is a part-time, hourly position within our Hospitality/Restaurant team located in West Portsmouth, Ohio.

Responsibilities:

1. Clean guest rooms according to established standards, including changing linens, dusting, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces.
2. Stock and replenish amenities and supplies in guest rooms and common areas.
3. Clean and maintain public areas, such as lobby, hallways, and restrooms.
4. Perform deep cleaning tasks, such as carpet shampooing and window cleaning, as needed.
5. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
6. Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations.
7. Attend all required meetings and trainings.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Previous experience in cleaning or housekeeping in a hospitality setting is a plus.
3. Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
4. Strong attention to detail.
5. Excellent time management skills.
6. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs and stand, walk, and bend for long periods of time.
7. Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
