Saint Luke’s Health System is seeking a Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider for a full‑time role serving adult patients with general cardiology and heart failure. The position includes inpatient rounds at St. Luke’s South and outpatient clinics at St.

Luke’s South and Plaza, with four 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM–5:30 PM) Mon–Fri and a weekend/holiday commitment. The APP will diagnose and treat cardiology conditions, maintain state board licensure, and hold national certification as required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required.
• APRN/PA/Clinical Nurse Specialist eligible per state boards.
• 1 year applicable experience in cardiology.
• National certification and licensure as required by State Boards.

Responsibilities

Job Description

This Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) position is a full time role covering general cardiology and heart failure with the primary patient population being adult.

Inpatient responsibilities will include general cardiology rounding at St. Luke’s South. Outpatient responsibilities will consist of heart failure clinics at both St. Luke’s South and St. Luke’s Hospital (Plaza).

The schedule is Monday through Friday and consists of four 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM to 5:30 PM) each week, with one variable day off.

There is a weekend and holiday commitment for this role.

The employee will be responsible for the medical management of the Cardiology patient population within the scope of an Advanced Practice Provider.The term Advanced Practice Provider encompasses Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Clinical Nurse Specialists. The employee will have successfully completed a Master’s degree (or higher level of educational program) and have met the requirements for the respective State Board(s) (Missouri and Kansas). The APP will hold and maintain a national certification and licensure as required by State Boards and BJC-Saint Luke’s Health System, as well as other certification as obligatory for this role.

Cardiology disease processes the APP will be expected to accurately diagnose and treat include general cardiology with a focus subspecialized patient population of heart failure in the clinic setting.

• Utilizes prescriptive authority in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations
• Obtains and documents relevant problem focused or comprehensive history from patient/medical records in a timely manner

Role duties may include but are not limited to:

• Completion of admissions, consultations, subsequent day visits and discharges in the inpatient setting
• Independent practice in the outpatient clinic and/or inpatient setting and collaborating with physician(s) as appropriate
• Ordering and management of appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies

This role may require training and competency for procedures applicable to the department of hire.
