General Cardiologist (Non‑Invasive), Assistant/Associate Professor, UT Health San Antonio, Department of Medicine – Division of Cardiology.

Start Date & Salary

Pay Rate: $360,000.00 – $420,000.00

Overview

UT Health San Antonio, Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, is seeking a general non‑invasive cardiologist faculty to join its academic cardiovascular program at the assistant or associate professor level. This position emphasizes high‑volume clinical care, procedural excellence in non‑invasive cardiology, and clinical teaching within an academic medical center. While the primary focus is general non‑invasive cardiology, we welcome candidates with specialized expertise in Cardio‑Oncology and/or Sports Cardiology.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive outpatient general cardiology care with limited inpatient service responsibilities as assigned
  • Participate in consultative cardiology services at affiliated hospitals and clinics
  • Interpret and perform non‑invasive cardiovascular procedures, including Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), Stress testing (exercise and pharmacologic; stress echo preferred), and Ambulatory rhythm monitoring and ECG interpretation
  • Collaborate with subspecialty cardiology (interventional, electrophysiology, advanced imaging, heart failure) and cardiovascular surgery
  • Participate in an equitable call schedule aligned with divisional needs
  • Contribute to access expansion, clinic growth, and service line development at our various UT clinic locations and our UT Health Multispecialty and Research Hospital in the South Texas Medical Center
  • Provide clinical teaching and supervision of medical students, internal medicine residents, and cardiology fellows
  • Participate in case conferences, fellow education, and divisional conferences
  • Engage in scholarly activity such as clinical outcomes research, quality improvement, or educational scholarship (protected research time is limited)
Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree
  • Completed an approved cardiovascular disease fellowship
  • Board certified or board eligible in cardiovascular disease
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Texas
  • Ability to obtain hospital privileges at UT Health‑affiliated facilities and UT Health Multispecialty and Research Hospital
  • Specialty in Cardio‑Oncology and Sports Cardiology is desirable
