Defense Information Systems Agency seeks a professional attorney to advise DISA management on administrative legal matters and provide support for programs such as Ethics in Government, FOIA, Privacy Act, and Reasonable Accommodation. The role includes preparing agency cases before EEOC, MSPB, and other forums, and assisting in personnel management reviews.
The attorney will also serve as an alternate Ethics and Standards of Conduct counselor and support senior leadership with policy formulation
This position for The Defense Information Systems Agency is at Fort Meade, Maryland, and Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.
This position is in the excepted service. It is filled by an alternative hiring process and is not in the competitive civil service.
Conditions of employment
All applicants must possess the first professional law degree (L.L.B or J.D.) from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association and active membership in the bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia.
The attorney shall have professional legal experience in excess of 2 years that is commensurate with duties and responsibilities of the position.

For the GS-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-11 if outside the Federal service, is required.
For the GS-13, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-12 if outside the Federal service, is required.
For the GS-14, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-13 if outside the Federal service, is required.
Specialized experience at the GS-14 level is defined as experience providing legal support for programs (including but not limited to: Ethics in Government program, Freedom of Information programs, etc.), advising senior management on administrative matters and policy formulation, assisting in the development of agency policies, presenting and litigating cases on behalf of the agency, and conducting legal review and approval of various civilian personnel management aspects.
