Job summary

Stellantis is seeking a Tolerance Analysis Engineer to lead cross-functional teams ensuring Body, Exterior, Interior, and Chassis build objectives are met. You will collaborate with PDO, Advanced Program, and Engineering teams early in programs, applying 3-D tolerance analysis to develop product and process specifications for dimensional and functional success.

You will develop countermeasures based on tolerance analysis and create BIW/subassembly tolerances, load/clearance studies for interior

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years of automotive experience.
  • Strong GD&T experience.
  • Strong organizational written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of analytical skills for problem solving.
  • Proficient in Teamcenter Visualization, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Strong understanding of statistical tolerances.
  • Understanding of tolerance paths and running basic tolerance stacks.
  • Experience with 3 Dimensional Tolerance Analysis, especially 3-DCS.
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams to ensure plant build objectives are met.
  • Experience evaluating product, process and tolerance alternatives to optimize design.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams to meet Body, Exterior, Interior, and Chassis build objectives.
  • Use 3-D tolerance analysis to develop product and process specifications that achieve dimensional and functional objectives.
  • Develop countermeasures based on tolerance analysis.
  • Develop BIW and subassembly tolerances, load and clearance studies for interior tolerance analysis.
  • Ensure chassis decking, wheel alignment and driveline alignment meet dimensional and functional objectives.
  • Re-run tolerance analysis to ensure no degradation based on supplier feedback.

Job description

Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum 5 years of automotive experience

  • Strong GD&T experience

  • Strong organizational written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in Teamcenter Visualization, PowerPoint, Word and Excel

  • Strong understanding of statistical tolerances

  • Understanding of tolerance paths and running basic tolerance stacks

  • Experience with 3 Dimensional Tolerance Analysis, especially 3-DCS

  • Ability to work with cross functional teams to ensure the assembly plant will be capable to achieve build objectives with the plan of record part design, part tolerances and assembly process

  • Experience evaluating product, process and tolerance alternatives in order to optimize a design where dimensional performance is critical


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's degree preferred

  • Preferred automotive experience in sheet metal stampings, body shop manufacturing, general assembly manufacturing including chassis, interior and exterior trim

  • GD&T ASME Y14.5 certification with experience in automotive applications

  • Experience with 3-Dimensional Tolerance Analysis, especially 3-DCS

  • 5 years' experience solving dimensional quality issues in a manufacturing plant.

  • 5 years' experience with dimensional measurement and statistical quality control

They will re-run tolerance analysis to ensure there is no degradation to Dimensional and Functional Objectives based on Supplier feedback.
