Brunswick Corporation in Lowell, MI is seeking a General Assembly Operator with training responsibilities for the Pedestals, Assembly and Bench departments. The role involves training newly hired and cross-training employees, and coordinating with operators and other trainers to ensure smooth cell setup and production flow.

Responsibilities include teaching proper manufacturing techniques, understanding floor layout (5S), enforcing safety guidelines, and recording labor and production rates.

Position Overview:

As part of the talented General Assembly team, you will help lead our Pedestals, Assembly, and Bench departments through training operators and setting up work cells. This position has a lot of leadership and communication between operators, other trainers, and other departments.

Essential Functions:

• Responsibilities as defined for General Assembly Operator
• Train newly hired, temporary, and crosstraining employees, in proper manufacturing techniques as detailed in DWIs.
• Understand and train employees of floor layout (5S).
• Be knowledgeable, practice and re-inforce safety rules and guidelines.
• Be capable of properly recording labor and explaining how to understand production rates.
• Work with Operators and Production Pickers to ensure cells are fully stocked with parts to complete production orders
• Be able to perform set up functions in all product families, including 1st piece where required
• Assist Operators who are having problems and call in outside help where needed
• Have an understanding of ISO requirements and our Quality Management System
• Have an understanding and communicate company metrics.

Required Qualifications:

• Meet qualifications for General Assembly Operator
• Be knowledgeable and proficient in all product families within respective department.
• Dependable – have a good attendance record
• Good interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and lead others

Working Conditions:

• Standing up to 8 hours per day
• Constantly walking from cell to cell
• Occasionally lifting not up to 50 lbs

The anticipated pay range for this position is _ $23.40, hourly. _ The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
